About SHTM Event Society
Founded by students of the School of Hotel and Tourism Management (SHTM), the Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 2016, the SHTM Event Society (SHTMES / 會議及展覽學會) offers students opportunities to learn and practise their event management and organization skills. Through participating in the chapter’s activities, members can gain industry-specific insight and experience. The chapter also serves as an excellent platform for students to extend their professional career network.
Vision and Mission
We strive to connect students with the event industry through learning and practicing event management, and networking with MICE industry professionals. At the same time, we intend to broaden members’ insights regarding the current trends of event and tourism industry and trigger their unique ideas in addressing existing issues of the global industry. We aim to achieve the following objectives:

Encourage and train members to become responsible, ethical leaders;

Cultivate members' awareness in professionalism conduct;

Foster members’ global exposure and cultural knowledge;

Provide members with real-world experiences and first-hand knowledge through offering various training workshops and activities, ultimately enhancing their awareness of practical issues in the industry;

Offer opportunities for participants to connect with employers and enhance their future professional and career development.
